8th Annual Harvest Moon Concert
with Mike Pritchard & Mark Wallney
Friday September 8th

Click here to RSVP or for more info7th Annual Harvest Moon House Concert

We have sold out of all guaranteed seats, which is the maximum we can accommodate if we are forced by the weather to have an indoor concert, but we want to hold our 8th Annual Harvest Moon concert outside under the full moon (weather permitting). So, we are taking PROVISIONAL RSVPs for additional seats. We expect good weather, but if the weather forces us inside, the Provisional seats will obviously not be available. So, PRAY FOR GOOD WEATHER! 🙂

Since these seats are Provisional, we will NOT be accepting payment in advance for these Provisional RSVPs. You will PAY AT THE DOOR the night of the concert.

Because this is an outdoor concert, PLEASE BRING LAWN CHAIRS if you have them. We will have some chairs available, but not enough for everyone.

If you have questions about these Provisional RSVPs, please use the Contact form at the right side of this page to submit your question. Be sure to include your phone number so we can contact you with our response.

It’s hard to believe this will be our 8th Annual Harvest Moon Concert! It marks an anniversary of sorts for Claire and Paul, as the first one was about the one-year mark from when we started dating. Who knew that all these years later, we would be married and still celebrating love and life with our friends every Harvest Moon?!

And, of course, it wouldn’t be the same without another outstanding performance by our dear friends Mike Pritchard and Mark Wallney, who got this whole thing started in the first place with their better-than-original performances of Neil Young’s “Harvest Moon”, which they would always play with a dedication to Claire every time Claire and Paul went on a date anywhere Mike and Mark were playing. Their performance of this romantic and seasonally appropriate song sets the stage for a relaxing evening of undeniable musical and vocal talent.

So here we are at our 8th annual celebration of life, love, and friends, at the time of each fall’s Harvest moon, the full moon closest to the Autumnal equinox. Often, the harvest moon seems to be bigger or brighter or more colorful than other full moons, so it’s a great time to enjoy a romantic concert. And it marks the beginning of the change of seasons, reminding us of the passing of time, and how important it is to share our time with those we love. There are a lot of special things about this 8th Annual Harvest Moon concert. For one, this will be our second Harvest Moon concert since we’ve been married, and the second Harvest Moon concert in our new home. Considering that our very first Harvest Moon concert was a surprise party for Claire, it’s nice how things have come full circle.

Weather permitting, this year’s concert will be held outside under that beautiful full Harvest Moon. We will move inside if the weather won’t cooperate, in which case there will not be room for those holding Provisional RSVPs.

RSVP is required, but we are NOT accepting advance payment on these Provisional RSVPs. Please click the RSVP link and let us know you’ll be here.

Wendy Colonna
August 11, 2017

HubCityMusic.com house concerts was excited to again host Wendy Colonna in an intimate house concert on Friday August 11, 2017!  The weather was perfect for a backyard concert, as the entire yard was in the shade by the time the concert started.

Wendy opened strong with the song featured on her newest video release, “Girls Like Me”. (view video HERE)  The song selection was perfect for the entire concert, as Wendy played a great mix of her newest songs from “No Moment But Now” interspersed with a great selection of the strongest songs in her now-vast repertoire.  It was a perfect concert on a perfect evening, and a great reminder why we love this amazing singer/songwriter.

Wendy Colonna is enjoying the success of back-to-back critically acclaimed album releases, and as significant as that would be for anyone else, it’s just the tip of Wendy’s Good News iceberg!

Last summer she married the love of her life, Ryan Doty, and just a few weeks ago they welcomed their new son, Charlie into the world!  And between those two blessed dates, she created her newest, and most acclaimed album, “No Moment But Now”, all the while continuing to perform for enthusiastic audiences in multiple locations, including the 2017 Kerrville Folk Festival.  To say Wendy has been busy would be an understatement of the highest order, just as it would be to say she has been blessed on a personal and professional level.  She is beyond blessed!

“No Moment But Now”, has songs simultaneously featured on Apple Music’s “Hot Tracks” and “Breaking Singer Songwriter Playlist”, as well as Spotify’s “Fresh Folk” playlist.  Wendy is garnering critical acclaim from multiple outlets including the New York Times (describing her music as “ethereal”), and she was selected as a 2017 Kerrville Folk Festival New Folk Finalist.  The Austin American-Statesman long ago recognized Wendy as “Austin’s Best Singer/Songwriter”, and that word is now out around the nation.

Expect more great news and great music from Wendy in the near future, but right now, enjoy her intimate and personal house concert while you can, because big things are on the way for this extraordinarily gifted songwriter and performer!

Sarah McQuaid
Friday October 24, 2014

Requested by popular demand, Sarah McQuaidwe were pleased to host vocalist and singer/songwriter, Sarah McQuaid, in a HubCityMusic.com house concert on Friday October 24, 2014.  Sarah kept an enthusiastic audience spellbound with her silky smooth vocals, and engineer Martin Stansbury made his own unique and artistic contributions to the amazing sound.  Sarah McQuaid definitely delivered the most unique voice to the HubCityMusic.com stage that we have ever experienced, and everyone who was in attendance was entranced.  We will be hosting Sarah again in October 2015 for a CD release tour appearance, and you won’t want to miss that return visit!

Coming to West Texas all the way from England, Sarah was born in Spain, raised in Chicago, spent 13 years in Ireland and currently lives with her family in Cornwall, England.  Ireland is where she started her music career, and it is clearly a place that means a lot to her: “I do love Ireland. I lived there for 13 years, my children were both born in Ireland and my husband’s from Ireland.”

Sarah has toured all over the world, in places such as Ireland, England, Spain, Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, and across the United States.

She has released 4 albums, all to great critical acclaim, and has also authored a book, titled “The Irish DADGAD Guitar Book”.

Sarah McQuaid’s voice is amazing, with a range from low and sultry to sweet and high.  In many ways her voice is reminiscent of Carly Simon, as well as Joni Mitchell, and also reminds me of another vocalist from England with incredible vocal range, Julia Fordham.

But of course, despite inevitable comparisons, Sarah is her own artist, with her own unique sound.

A few quotes regarding Sarah:

“Rising star Sarah McQuaid’s voice has been likened to malt whiskey, melted chocolate and “honey poured into wine”.

Sarah’s third solo album, “The Plum Tree and the Rose”, has drawn critical acclaim on both sides of the Atlantic: “Impeccable” wrote fRoots (UK), while Midwest Record (USA) called it “low key but glorious and incendiary”, and Hot Press (Ireland) said it “should feature on many end-of-year best-ofs.”
